  1. 내가 내 눈과 言約(언약)을 세웠나니 어찌 處女(처녀)에게 注目(주목)하랴
  2. 그리하면 위에 계신 하나님의 내리시는 분깃이 무엇이겠으며 높은 곳에서 全能者(전능자)의 주시는 産業(산업)이 무엇이겠느냐
  3. 不義者(불의자)에게는 患難(환난)이 아니겠느냐 行惡者(행악자)에게는 災殃(재앙)이 아니겠느냐
  4. 그가 내 길을 監察(감찰)하지 아니하시느냐 내 걸음을 다 세지 아니하시느냐
  5. 언제 나의 行爲(행위)가 虛誕(허탄)하였으며 내 발이 詭譎(궤휼)에 빨랐던가

  1. I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?
  2. For what portion of God is there from above? and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high?
  3. Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity?
  4. Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?
  5. If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;
  1. "I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl.
  2. For what is man's lot from God above, his heritage from the Almighty on high?
  3. Is it not ruin for the wicked, disaster for those who do wrong?
  4. Does he not see my ways and count my every step?
  5. "If I have walked in falsehood or my foot has hurried after deceit--
  1. 그리하였으면 내가 公平(공평)한 저울에 달려서 하나님이 나의 正直(정직)함을 아시게 되기를 願(원)하노라
  2. 언제 내 걸음이 길에서 떠났던가, 내 마음이 내 눈을 따라갔던가, 내 손에 더러운 것이 묻었던가,
  3. 그리하였으면 나의 심은 것을 他人(타인)이 먹으며 나의 所産(소산)이 뿌리까지 뽑히는 것이 마땅하니라
  4. 언제 내 마음이 女人(녀인)에게 誘惑(유혹)되어 이웃의 門(문)을 엿보아 기다렸던가
  5. 그리하였으면 내 妻(처)가 他人(타인)의 매를 돌리며 他人(타인)이 더불어 同寢(동침)하는 것이 마땅하니라

  1. Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity.
  2. If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;
  3. Then let me sow, and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out.
  4. If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour's door;
  5. Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.
  1. let God weigh me in honest scales and he will know that I am blameless--
  2. if my steps have turned from the path, if my heart has been led by my eyes, or if my hands have been defiled,
  3. then may others eat what I have sown, and may my crops be uprooted.
  4. "If my heart has been enticed by a woman, or if I have lurked at my neighbor's door,
  5. then may my wife grind another man's grain, and may other men sleep with her.
  1. 이는 重罪(중죄)라 裁判長(재판장)에게 罰(벌)받을 惡(악)이요
  2. 滅亡(멸망)하도록 사르는 불이라 나의 모든 所産(소산)을 뿌리까지 없이할 것이니라
  3. 男(남)종이나 女(여)종이 나로 더불어 爭辯(쟁변)할 때에 내가 언제 그의 事情(사정)을 蔑視(멸시)하였던가
  4. 그리하였으면 하나님이 일어나실 때에는 내가 어떻게 하겠느냐 하나님이 鞫問(국문)하실 때에는 내가 무엇이라 對答(대답)하겠느냐
  5. 나를 胎(태) 속에 만드신 者(자)가 그도 만들지 아니하셨느냐 우리를 뱃속에 지으신 者(자)가 하나가 아니시냐

  1. For this is an heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by the judges.
  2. For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.
  3. If I did despise the cause of my manservant or of my maidservant, when they contended with me;
  4. What then shall I do when God riseth up? and when he visiteth, what shall I answer him?
  5. Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?
  1. For that would have been shameful, a sin to be judged.
  2. It is a fire that burns to Destruction; it would have uprooted my harvest.
  3. "If I have denied justice to my menservants and maidservants when they had a grievance against me,
  4. what will I do when God confronts me? What will I answer when called to account?
  5. Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?
  1. 내가 언제 가난한 者(자)의 所願(소원)을 막았던가 寡婦(과부)의 눈으로 失望(실망)케 하였던가
  2. 나만 홀로 植物(식물)을 먹고 孤兒(고아)에게 먹이지 아니하였던가
  3. 實狀(실상)은 내가 젊었을 때부터 孤兒(고아)를 기르기를 그의 아비처럼 하였으며 내가 母胎(모태)에서 나온 後(후)로 寡婦(과부)를 引導(인도)하였었노라
  4. 내가 언제 사람이 衣服(의복)이 없이 죽게 된 것이나 貧窮(빈궁)한 者(자)가 덮을 것이 없는 것을 보고도
  5. 나의 羊(양)털로 그 몸을 더웁게 입혀서 그로 나를 爲(위)하여 福(복)을 빌게 하지 아니하였던가

  1. If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;
  2. Or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof;

  4. If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or any poor without covering;
  5. If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

  2. if I have kept my bread to myself, not sharing it with the fatherless--
  3. but from my youth I reared him as would a father, and from my birth I guided the widow--
  4. if I have seen anyone perishing for lack of clothing, or a needy man without a garment,
  5. and his heart did not bless me for warming him with the fleece from my sheep,

  2. 그리하였으면 내 어깨가 어깨뼈에서 떨어지고 내 팔 뼈가 부러짐이 마땅하니라
  3. 나는 하나님의 災殃(재앙)을 甚(심)히 두려워하고 그 威嚴(위엄)을 因(인)하여 아무 것도 할 수 없느니라
  4. 내가 언제 金(금)으로 내 所望(소망)을 삼고 精金(정금)더러 너는 내 依賴(의뢰)하는 바라 하였던가
  5. 언제 財物(재물)의 豊富(풍부)함과 손으로 얻은 것이 많음으로 기뻐하였던가

  1. If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate:
  2. Then let mine arm fall from my shoulder blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone.
  3. For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his highness I could not endure.
  4. If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;
  5. If I rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because mine hand had gotten much;
  1. if I have raised my hand against the fatherless, knowing that I had influence in court,
  2. then let my arm fall from the shoulder, let it be broken off at the joint.
  3. For I dreaded destruction from God, and for fear of his splendor I could not do such things.
  4. "If I have put my trust in gold or said to pure gold, 'You are my security,'
  5. if I have rejoiced over my great wealth, the fortune my hands had gained,

  2. 내 마음이 가만히 誘惑(유혹)되어 손에 입맞추었던가
  3. 이 亦是(역시) 裁判長(재판장)에게 罰(벌) 받을 罪惡(죄악)이니 내가 그리하였으면 위에 계신 하나님을 背叛(배반)한 것이니라
  4. 내가 언제 나를 미워하는 者(자)의 滅亡(멸망)을 기뻐하였으며 그의 災殃(재앙) 만남을 因(인)하여 氣運(기운)을 뽐내었던가
  5. 實狀(실상)은 내가 그의 죽기를 求(구)하는 말로 詛呪(저주)하여 내 입으로 犯罪(범죄)케 아니하였느니라

  1. If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness;
  2. And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:
  3. This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above.
  4. If I rejoiced at the destruction of him that hated me, or lifted up myself when evil found him:
  5. Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by wishing a curse to his soul.
  1. if I have regarded the sun in its radiance or the moon moving in splendor,
  2. so that my heart was secretly enticed and my hand offered them a kiss of homage,
  3. then these also would be sins to be judged, for I would have been unfaithful to God on high.
  4. "If I have rejoiced at my enemy's misfortune or gloated over the trouble that came to him--
  5. I have not allowed my mouth to sin by invoking a curse against his life--
  1. 내 帳幕(장막) 사람의 말이 主人(주인)의 고기에 배부르지 않은 者(자)가 어디 있느뇨 하지 아니하였었는가
  2. 나그네로 거리에서 자게 하지 아니하고 내가 行人(행인)에게 내 門(문)을 열어 주었었노라
  3. 내가 언제 큰 무리를 두려워하며 族屬(족속)의 蔑視(멸시)를 무서워함으로 潛潛(잠잠)하고 문에 나가지 아니하여 他人(타인)처럼 내 罪惡(죄악)을 품에 숨겨 허물을 가리었었던가
  4. 33절과 같음
  5. 누구든지 나의 辨白(변백)을 들을지니라 나의 署名(서명)이 여기 있으니 全能者(전능자)가 내게 對答(대답)하시기를 願(원)하노라 내 對敵(대적)의 記錄(기록)한 訴訟狀(소송장)이 내게 있으면

  1. If the men of my tabernacle said not, Oh that we had of his flesh! we cannot be satisfied.
  2. The stranger did not lodge in the street: but I opened my doors to the traveller.
  3. If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom:
  4. Did I fear a great multitude, or did the contempt of families terrify me, that I kept silence, and went not out of the door?
  5. Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that mine adversary had written a book.
  1. if the men of my household have never said, 'Who has not had his fill of Job's meat?'--
  2. but no stranger had to spend the night in the street, for my door was always open to the traveler--
  3. if I have concealed my sin as men do, by hiding my guilt in my heart
  4. because I so feared the crowd and so dreaded the contempt of the clans that I kept silent and would not go outside
  5. ("Oh, that I had someone to hear me! I sign now my defense--let the Almighty answer me; let my accuser put his indictment in writing.
  1. 내가 어깨에 메기도 하고 冕旒冠(면류관)처럼 머리에 쓰기도 하며
  2. 내 걸음의 數爻(수효)를 그에게 告(고)하고 王族(왕족)처럼 그를 가까이 하였으리라
  3. 언제 내 土地(토지)가 부르짖어 나를 責望(책망)하며 그 이랑이 一時(일시)에 울었던가
  4. 언제 내가 값을 내지 않고 그 所産物(소산물)을 먹고 그 所有主(소유주)로 生命(생명)을 잃게 하였던가
  5. 그리하였으면 밀 代身(대신)에 찔레가 나고 보리 代身(대신)에 雜(잡)풀이 나는 것이 마땅하니라 하고 욥의 말이 그치니라

  1. Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me.
  2. I would declare unto him the number of my steps; as a prince would I go near unto him.
  3. If my land cry against me, or that the furrows likewise thereof complain;
  4. If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:
  5. Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and cockle instead of barley. The words of Job are ended.
  1. Surely I would wear it on my shoulder, I would put it on like a crown.
  2. I would give him an account of my every step; like a prince I would approach him.)--
  3. "if my land cries out against me and all its furrows are wet with tears,
  4. if I have devoured its yield without payment or broken the spirit of its tenants,
  5. then let briers come up instead of wheat and weeds instead of barley." The words of Job are ended.
