  1. 다윗의 아들 이스라엘 王(왕) 솔로몬의 箴言(잠언)이라
  2. 이는 智慧(지혜)와 訓戒(훈계)를 알게 하며 明哲(명철)의 말씀을 깨닫게 하며
  3. 智慧(지혜)롭게, 義(의)롭게, 公平(공평)하게, 正直(정직)하게, 行(행)할 일에 對(대)하여 訓戒(훈계)를 받게 하며
  4. 어리석은 者(자)로 슬기롭게 하며 젊은 者(자)에게 知識(지식)과 謹愼(근신)함을 주기 爲(위)한 것이니
  5. 智慧(지혜)있는 者(자)는 듣고 學識(학식)이 더할 것이요 明哲(명철)한 者(자)는 謀略(모략)을 얻을 것이라

  1. The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
  2. To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
  3. To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
  4. To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
  5. A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
  1. The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:
  2. for attaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight;
  3. for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair;
  4. for giving prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young--
  5. let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance--
  1. 箴言(잠언)과 比喩(비유)와 智慧(지혜)있는 者(자)의 말과 그 奧妙(오묘)한 말을 깨달으리라
  2. 여호와를 敬畏(경외)하는 것이 知識(지식)의 根本(근본)이어늘 미련한 者(자)는 智慧(지혜)와 訓戒(훈계)를 蔑視(멸시)하느니라
  3. 내 아들아 네 아비의 訓戒(훈계)를 들으며 네 어미의 法(법)을 떠나지 말라
  4. 이는 네 머리의 아름다운 冠(관)이요 네 목의 金(금)사슬이니라
  5. 내 아들아 惡(악)한 者(자)가 너를 꾈지라도 좇지 말라

  1. To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
  2. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
  3. My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
  4. For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
  5. My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
  1. for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.
  2. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
  3. Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching.
  4. They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.
  5. My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them.
  1. 그들이 네게 말하기를 우리와 함께 가자 우리가 가만히 엎드렸다가 사람의 피를 흘리자 罪(죄)없는 者(자)를 까닭없이 숨어 기다리다가
  2. 陰府(음부) 같이 그들을 산 채로 삼키며 무덤에 내려가는 者(자) 같게 통으로 삼키자
  3. 우리가 온갖 寶貨(보화)를 얻으며 빼앗은 것으로 우리 집에 채우리니
  4. 너는 우리와 함께 제비를 뽑고 우리가 함께 纏袋(전대) 하나만 두자 할지라도
  5. 내 아들아 그들과 함께 길에 다니지 말라 네 발을 禁(금)하여 그 길을 밟지 말라

  1. If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
  2. Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
  3. We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
  4. Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
  5. My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
  1. If they say, "Come along with us; let's lie in wait for someone's blood, let's waylay some harmless soul;
  2. let's swallow them alive, like the grave, and whole, like those who go down to the pit;
  3. we will get all sorts of valuable things and fill our houses with plunder;
  4. throw in your lot with us, and we will share a common purse"--
  5. my son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths;
  1. 大抵(대저) 그 발은 惡(악)으로 달려가며 피를 흘리는 데 빠름이니라
  2. 무릇 새가 그물 치는 것을 보면 헛 일이겠거늘
  3. 그들의 가만히 엎드림은 自己(자기)의 피를 흘릴 뿐이요 숨어 기다림은 自己(자기)의 生命(생명)을 害(해)할 뿐이니
  4. 무릇 利(이)를 貪(탐)하는 者(자)의 길은 다 이러하여 自己(자기)의 生命(생명)을 잃게 하느니라
  5. 智慧(지혜)가 길거리에서 부르며 廣場(광장)에서 소리를 높이며

  1. For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
  2. Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.
  3. And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.
  4. So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.
  5. Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
  1. for their feet rush into sin, they are swift to shed blood.
  2. How useless to spread a net in full view of all the birds!
  3. These men lie in wait for their own blood; they waylay only themselves!
  4. Such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the lives of those who get it.
  5. Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares;
  1. 훤화하는 길 머리에서 소리를 지르며 城門(성문) 어귀와 城中(성중)에서 그 소리를 發(발)하여 가로되
  2. 너희 어리석은 者(자)들은 어리석음을 좋아하며 倨慢(거만)한 者(자)들은 倨慢(거만)을 기뻐하며 미련한 者(자)들은 知識(지식)을 미워하니 어느 때까지 하겠느냐
  3. 나의 責望(책망)을 듣고 돌이키라 보라 내가 나의 神(신)을 너희에게 부어주며 나의 말을 너희에게 보이리라
  4. 내가 부를지라도 너희가 듣기 싫어 하였고 내가 손을 펼지라도 돌아보는 者(자)가 없었고
  5. 도리어 나의 모든 敎訓(교훈)을 蔑視(멸시)하며 나의 責望(책망)을 받지 아니하였은즉

  1. She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
  2. How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
  3. Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
  4. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
  5. But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
  1. at the head of the noisy streets she cries out, in the gateways of the city she makes her speech:
  2. "How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?
  3. If you had responded to my rebuke, I would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you.
  4. But since you rejected me when I called and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand,
  5. since you ignored all my advice and would not accept my rebuke,
  1. 너희가 災殃(재앙)을 만날 때에 내가 웃을 것이며 너희에게 두려움이 臨(임)할 때에 내가 비웃으리라
  2. 너희의 두려움이 狂風(광풍)같이 臨(임)하겠고 너희의 災殃(재앙)이 暴風(폭풍)같이 이르겠고 너희에게 근심과 슬픔이 臨(임)하리니
  3. 그 때에 너희가 나를 부르리라 그래도 내가 對答(대답)지 아니하겠고 부지런히 나를 찾으리라 그래도 나를 만나지 못하리니
  4. 大抵(대저) 너희가 知識(지식)을 미워하며 여호와 敬畏(경외)하기를 즐거워하지 아니하며
  5. 나의 敎訓(교훈)을 받지 아니하고 나의 모든 責望(책망)을 업신여겼음이라

  1. I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
  2. When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
  3. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
  4. For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:
  5. They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
  1. I in turn will laugh at your disaster; I will mock when calamity overtakes you--
  2. when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you.
  3. "Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me.
  4. Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the LORD,
  5. since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke,
  1. 그러므로 自己(자기) 行爲(행위)의 열매를 먹으며 自己(자기) 꾀에 배부르리라
  2. 어리석은 者(자)의 退步(퇴보)는 自己(자기)를 죽이며 미련한 者(자)의 安逸(안일)은 自己(자기)를 滅亡(멸망)시키려니와
  3. 오직 나를 듣는 者(자)는 晏然(안연)히 살며 災殃(재앙)의 두려움이 없이 平安(평안)하리라

  1. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
  2. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
  3. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
  1. they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.
  2. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
  3. but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."
