  1. All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers.
  2. And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
  3. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.
  4. Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.
  5. Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.
  1. Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land that the LORD promised on oath to your forefathers.
  2. Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.
  3. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.
  4. Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years.
  5. Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.

  1. Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.
  2. For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;
  3. A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey;
  4. A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.
  5. When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.
  1. Observe the commands of the LORD your God, walking in his ways and revering him.
  2. For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land--a land with streams and pools of water, with springs flowing in the valleys and hills;
  3. a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey;
  4. a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills.
  5. When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the LORD your God for the good land he has given you.

  1. Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
  2. Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
  3. And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;
  4. Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;
  5. Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;
  1. Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day.
  2. Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down,
  3. and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied,
  4. then your heart will become proud and you will forget the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
  5. He led you through the vast and dreadful desert, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. He brought you water out of hard rock.

  1. Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
  2. And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.
  3. But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
  4. And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the Lord thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.
  5. As the nations which the Lord destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the Lord your God.
  1. He gave you manna to eat in the desert, something your fathers had never known, to humble and to test you so that in the end it might go well with you.
  2. You may say to yourself, "My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me."
  3. But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today.
  4. If you ever forget the LORD your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed.
  5. Like the nations the LORD destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the LORD your God.
