  1. 데만 사람 엘리바스가 對答(대답)하여 가로되
  2. 사람이 어찌 하나님께 有益(유익)하게 하겠느냐 智慧(지혜)로운 者(자)도 스스로 有益(유익)할 따름이니라
  3. 네가 義(의)로운들 全能者(전능자)에게 무슨 기쁨이 있겠으며 네 行爲(행위)가 穩全(온전)한들 그에게 무슨 利益(리익)이 있겠느냐
  4. 하나님이 너를 責望(책망)하시며 너를 審問(심문)하심이 너의 敬畏(경외)함을 因(인)함이냐
  5. 네 惡(악)이 크지 아니하냐 네 罪惡(죄악)이 極(극)하니라

  1. Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
  2. Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?
  3. Is it any pleasure to the almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?
  4. Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?
  5. Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?
  1. Then Eliphaz the Temanite replied:
  2. "Can a man be of benefit to God? Can even a wise man benefit him?
  3. What pleasure would it give the Almighty if you were righteous? What would he gain if your ways were blameless?
  4. "Is it for your piety that he rebukes you and brings charges against you?
  5. Is not your wickedness great? Are not your sins endless?
  1. 까닭 없이 兄弟(형제)의 物件(물건)을 볼모 잡으며 헐벗은 者(자)의 衣服(의복)을 벗기며
  2. 渴(갈)한 者(자)에게 물을 마시우지 아니하며 주린 者(자)에게 植物(식물)을 주지 아니하였구나
  3. 權勢(권세) 있는 者(자)가 土地(토지)를 얻고 尊貴(존귀)한 者(자)가 거기서 사는구나
  4. 네가 寡婦(과부)를 空手(공수)로 돌아가게 하며 孤兒(고아)의 팔을 꺾는구나
  5. 이러므로 올무들이 너를 둘러있고 두려움이 忽然(홀연)히 너를 侵犯(침범)하며

  1. For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
  2. Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
  3. But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.
  4. Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
  5. Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;
  1. You demanded security from your brothers for no reason; you stripped men of their clothing, leaving them naked.
  2. You gave no water to the weary and you withheld food from the hungry,
  3. though you were a powerful man, owning land--an honored man, living on it.
  4. And you sent widows away empty-handed and broke the strength of the fatherless.
  5. That is why snares are all around you, why sudden peril terrifies you,
  1. 어두움이 너로 보지 못하게 하고 漲水(창수)가 너를 덮느니라
  2. 하나님이 높은 하늘에 계시지 아니하냐 보라, 별의 높음이 얼마나 높은가
  3. 그러나 네 말은 하나님이 무엇을 아시며 黑暗(흑암) 中(중)에서 어찌 審判(심판)하실 수 있으랴
  4. 빽빽한 구름이 그를 가리운즉 그가 보지 못하시고 穹蒼(궁창)으로 걸어다니실 뿐이라 하는구나
  5. 네가 惡人(악인)의 밟던 옛적 길을 지키려느냐

  1. Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.
  2. Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
  3. And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?
  4. Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
  5. Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
  1. why it is so dark you cannot see, and why a flood of water covers you.
  2. "Is not God in the heights of heaven? And see how lofty are the highest stars!
  3. Yet you say, 'What does God know? Does he judge through such darkness?
  4. Thick clouds veil him, so he does not see us as he goes about in the vaulted heavens.'
  5. Will you keep to the old path that evil men have trod?
  1. 그들은 때가 이르기 前(전)에 끊어버리웠고 그 터는 河水(하수)로 因(인)하여 陷沒(함몰)되었느니라
  2. 그들이 하나님께 말하기를 우리를 떠나소서 하며 또 말하기를 全能者(전능자)가 우리를 爲(위)하여 무엇을 하실 수 있으랴 하였으나
  3. 하나님이 좋은 것으로 그 집에 채우셨느니라 惡人(악인)의 計劃(계획)은 나와 判異(판이)하니라
  4. 義人(의인)은 보고 기뻐하고 無罪者(무죄자)는 그들을 비웃기를
  5. 우리의 對敵(대적)이 끊어졌고 그 남은 것이 불사른 바 되었다 하느니라

  1. Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:
  2. Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?
  3. Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
  4. The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.
  5. Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.
  1. They were carried off before their time, their foundations washed away by a flood.
  2. They said to God, 'Leave us alone! What can the Almighty do to us?'
  3. Yet it was he who filled their houses with good things, so I stand aloof from the counsel of the wicked.
  4. "The righteous see their ruin and rejoice; the innocent mock them, saying,
  5. 'Surely our foes are destroyed, and fire devours their wealth.'
  1. 너는 하나님과 和睦(화목)하고 平安(평안)하라 그리하면 福(복)이 네게 臨(임)하리라
  2. 請(청)컨대 너는 그 입에서 敎訓(교훈)을 받고 그 말씀을 네 마음에 두라
  3. 네가 萬一(만일) 全能者(전능자)에게로 돌아가고 또 네 帳幕(장막)에서 不義(불의)를 멀리 버리면 다시 興(흥)하리라
  4. 네 보배를 塵土(진토)에 버리고 오빌의 金(금)을 江(강) 가의 돌에 버리라
  5. 그리하면 全能者(전능자)가 네 보배가 되시며 네게 貴(귀)한 銀(은)이 되시리니

  1. Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
  2. Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
  3. If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
  4. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
  5. Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
  1. "Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you.
  2. Accept instruction from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart.
  3. If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored: If you remove wickedness far from your tent
  4. and assign your nuggets to the dust, your gold of Ophir to the rocks in the ravines,
  5. then the Almighty will be your gold, the choicest silver for you.
  1. 이에 네가 全能者(전능자)를 기뻐하여 하나님께로 얼굴을 들 것이라
  2. 너는 그에게 祈禱(기도)하겠고 그는 들으실 것이며 너의 誓願(서원)한 것을 네가 갚으리라
  3. 네가 무엇을 經營(경영)하면 이루어질 것이요 네 길에 빛이 비취리라
  4. 네가 낮춤을 받거든 높아지리라고 말하라 하나님은 謙遜(겸손)한 者(자)를 救援(구원)하시느니라
  5. 無罪(무죄)한 者(자)가 아니라도 건지시리니 네 손이 깨끗함을 因(인)하여 그런 者(자)가 건지심을 입으리라

  1. For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
  2. Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
  3. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
  4. When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There Is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
  5. He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.
  1. Surely then you will find delight in the Almighty and will lift up your face to God.
  2. You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows.
  3. What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways.
  4. When men are brought low and you say, 'Lift them up!' then he will save the downcast.
  5. He will deliver even one who is not innocent, who will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands."
