  1. 내 아들아, 네가 萬一(만일) 이웃을 爲(위)하여 擔保(담보)하며 他人(타인)을 爲(위)하여 保證(보증)하였으면
  2. 네 입의 말로 네가 얽혔으며 네 입의 말로 因(인)하여 잡히게 되었느니라
  3. 내 아들아, 네가 네 이웃의 손에 빠졌은즉 이같이 하라 너는 곧 가서 謙遜(겸손)히 네 이웃에게 懇求(간구)하여 스스로 救援(구원)하되
  4. 네 눈으로 잠들게 하지 말며 눈꺼풀로 감기게 하지 말고
  5. 노루가 사냥군의 손에서 벗어나는 것 같이 새가 그물 치는 者(자)의 손에서 벗어나는 것 같이 스스로 救援(구원)하라

  1. My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,
  2. Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.
  3. Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend.
  4. Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.
  5. Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.
  1. My son, if you have put up security for your neighbor, if you have struck hands in pledge for another,
  2. if you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth,
  3. then do this, my son, to free yourself, since you have fallen into your neighbor's hands: Go and humble yourself; press your plea with your neighbor!
  4. Allow no sleep to your eyes, no slumber to your eyelids.
  5. Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.
  1. 게으른 者(자)여, 개미에게로 가서 그 하는 것을 보고 智慧(지혜)를 얻으라

  3. 먹을 것을 여름 동안에 豫備(예비)하며 秋收(추수) 때에 糧食(량식)을 모으느니라
  4. 게으른 者(자)여, 네가 어느 때까지 눕겠느냐 네가 어느 때에 잠이 깨어 일어나겠느나
  5. 좀더 자자, 좀더 졸자, 손을 모으고 좀더 눕자 하면

  1. Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
  2. Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
  3. Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
  4. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?
  5. Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
  1. Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!
  2. It has no commander, no overseer or ruler,
  3. yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.
  4. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep?
  5. A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest--
  1. 貧窮(빈궁)이 强盜(강도) 같이 오며 네 困乏(곤핍)이 軍士(군사) 같이 이르리라
  2. 不良(불량)하고 惡(악)한 者(자)는 그 行動(행동)에 詭譎(궤휼)한 입을 벌리며
  3. 눈짓을 하며 발로 뜻을 보이며 손가락질로 알게 하며
  4. 그 마음에 悖逆(패역)을 품으며 恒常(항상) 惡(악)을 꾀하여 다툼을 일으키는 者(자)라
  5. 그러므로 그 災殃(재앙)이 갑자기 臨(임)한즉 도움을 얻지 못하고 當場(당장)에 敗亡(패망)하리라

  1. So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.
  2. A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.
  3. He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers;
  4. Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.
  5. Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.
  1. and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.
  2. A scoundrel and villain, who goes about with a corrupt mouth,
  3. who winks with his eye, signals with his feet and motions with his fingers,
  4. who plots evil with deceit in his heart--he always stirs up dissension.
  5. Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant; he will suddenly be destroyed--without remedy.

  2. 驕慢(교만)한 눈과, 거짓된 혀와, 無罪(무죄)한 者(자)의 피를 흘리는 손과,
  3. 惡(악)한 計巧(계교)를 꾀하는 마음과, 빨리 惡(악)으로 달려가는 발과,
  4. 거짓을 말하는 妄靈(망령)된 證人(증인)과, 및 兄弟(형제) 사이를 離間(리간)하는 者(자)니라

  1. These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
  2. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
  3. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
  4. A FALSE witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
  5. My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
  1. There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him:
  2. haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,
  3. a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,
  4. a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
  5. My son, keep your father's commands and do not forsake your mother's teaching.

  2. 그것이 너의 다닐 때에 너를 引導(인도)하며 너의 잘 때에 너를 保護(보호)하며 너의 깰 때에 너로 더불어 말하리니
  3. 大抵(대저) 命令(명령)은 燈(등)불이요 法(법)은 빛이요 訓戒(훈계)의 責望(책망)은 곧 生命(생명)의 길이라
  4. 이것이 너를 지켜서 惡(악)한 계집에게, 異邦(이방) 계집의 혀로 호리는 말에 빠지지 않게 하리라
  5. 네 마음에 그 아름다운 色(색)을 貪(탐)하지 말며 그 눈꺼풀에 홀리지 말라

  1. Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.
  2. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.
  3. For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
  4. To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
  5. Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
  1. Bind them upon your heart forever; fasten them around your neck.
  2. When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you.
  3. For these commands are a lamp, this teaching is a light, and the corrections of discipline are the way to life,
  4. keeping you from the immoral woman, from the smooth tongue of the wayward wife.
  5. Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes,
  1. 淫女(음녀)로 因(인)하여 사람이 한조각 떡만 남게 됨이며 淫亂(음란)한 계집은 貴(귀)한 生命(생명)을 사냥함이니라
  2. 사람이 불을 품에 품고야 어찌 그 옷이 타지 아니하겠으며
  3. 사람이 숯불을 밟고야 어찌 그 발이 데지 아니하겠느냐
  4. 남의 아내와 通姦(통간)하는 者(자)도 이와 같을 것이라 무릇 그를 만지기만 하는 者(자)도 罪(죄) 없게 되지 아니하리라
  5. 盜賊(도적)이 萬一(만일) 주릴 때에 배를 채우려고 盜賊(도적)질하면 사람이 그를 蔑視(멸시)치는 아니하려니와

  1. For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.
  2. Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
  3. Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?
  4. So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.
  5. Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;
  1. for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread, and the adulteress preys upon your very life.
  2. Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned?
  3. Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched?
  4. So is he who sleeps with another man's wife; no one who touches her will go unpunished.
  5. Men do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy his hunger when he is starving.
  1. 들키면 七倍(칠배)를 갚아야 하리니 심지어 自己(자기) 집에 있는 것을 다 내어주게 되리라
  2. 婦女(부녀)와 姦淫(간음)하는 者(자)는 無知(무지)한 者(자)라 이것을 行(행)하는 者(자)는 自己(자기)의 靈魂(령혼)을 亡(망)하게 하며
  3. 傷(상)함과 凌辱(릉욕)을 받고 부끄러움을 씻을 수 없게 되나니
  4. 그 男便(남편)이 妬忌(투기)함으로 忿怒(분노)하여 怨讐(원수)를 갚는 날에 容恕(용서)하지 아니하고
  5. 아무 罰金(벌금)도 돌아 보지 아니하며 많은 膳物(선물)을 줄지라도 듣지 아니하리라

  1. But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.
  2. But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
  3. A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.
  4. For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
  5. He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.
  1. Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold, though it costs him all the wealth of his house.
  2. But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment; whoever does so destroys himself.
  3. Blows and disgrace are his lot, and his shame will never be wiped away;
  4. for jealousy arouses a husband's fury, and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge.
  5. He will not accept any compensation; he will refuse the bribe, however great it is.
