  1. 솔로몬의 箴言(잠언)이라 智慧(지혜)로운 아들은 아비로 기쁘게 하거니와 미련한 아들은 어미의 근심이니라
  2. 不義(불의)의 財物(재물)은 無益(무익)하여도 義理(의리)는 죽음에서 건지느니라
  3. 여호와께서 義人(의인)의 靈魂(령혼)은 주리지 않게 하시나 惡人(악인)의 所欲(소욕)은 물리치시느니라
  4. 손을 게으르게 놀리는 者(자)는 가난하게 되고 손이 부지런한 者(자)는 富(부)하게 되느니라
  5. 여름에 거두는 者(자)는 智慧(지혜)로운 아들이나 秋收(추수) 때에 자는 者(자)는 부끄러움을 끼치는 아들이니라

  1. The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
  2. Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
  3. The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
  4. He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
  5. He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

  2. Ill-gotten treasures are of no value, but righteousness delivers from death.
  3. The LORD does not let the righteous go hungry but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.
  4. Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.
  5. He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.
  1. 義人(의인)의 머리에는 福(복)이 臨(임)하거늘 惡人(악인)의 입은 毒(독)을 머금었느니라
  2. 義人(의인)을 記念(기념)할 때에는 稱讚(칭찬)하거니와 惡人(악인)의 이름은 썩으리라
  3. 마음이 智慧(지혜)로운 者(자)는 命令(명령)을 받거니와 입이 미련한 者(자)는 敗亡(패망)하리라
  4. 바른 길로 行(행)하는 者(자)는 걸음이 平安(평안)하려니와 굽은 길로 行(행)하는 者(자)는 드러나리라
  5. 눈짓하는 者(자)는 근심을 끼치고 입이 미련한 者(자)는 敗亡(패망)하느니라

  1. Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
  2. The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
  3. The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
  4. He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
  5. He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.
  1. Blessings crown the head of the righteous, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.
  2. The memory of the righteous will be a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.
  3. The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin.
  4. The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.
  5. He who winks maliciously causes grief, and a chattering fool comes to ruin.
  1. 義人(의인)의 입은 生命(생명)의 샘이라도 惡人(악인)의 입은 毒(독)을 머금었느니라
  2. 미움은 다툼을 일으켜도 사랑은 모든 허물을 가리우느니라
  3. 明哲(명철)한 者(자)의 입술에는 智慧(지혜)가 있어도 智慧(지혜) 없는 者(자)의 등을 위하여는 채찍이 있느니라
  4. 智慧(지혜)로운 者(자)는 知識(지식)을 看直(간직)하거니와 미련한 者(자)의 입은 滅亡(멸망)에 가까우니라
  5. 富者(부자)의 財物(재물)은 그의 堅固(견고)한 城(성)이요 가난한 者(자)의 窮乏(궁핍)은 그의 敗亡(패망)이니라

  1. The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
  2. Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
  3. In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
  4. Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
  5. The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.

  1. 義人(의인)의 受苦(수고)는 生命(생명)에 이르고 惡人(악인)의 所得(소득)은 罪(죄)에 이르느니라
  2. 訓戒(훈계)를 지키는 者(자)는 生命(생명)길로 行(행)하여도 懲戒(징계)를 버리는 者(자)는 그릇 가느니라
  3. 미워함을 감추는 者(자)는 거짓의 입술을 가진 者(자)요 讒訴(참소)하는 者(자)는 미련한 者(자)니라
  4. 말이 많으면 허물을 免(면)키 어려우나 그 입술을 制馭(제어)하는 者(자)는 智慧(지혜)가 있느니라
  5. 義人(의인)의 혀는 天銀(천은)과 같거니와 惡人(악인)의 마음은 價値(가치)가 적으니라

  1. The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
  2. He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.
  3. He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
  4. In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
  5. The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
  1. The wages of the righteous bring them life, but the income of the wicked brings them punishment.
  2. He who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.
  3. He who conceals his hatred has lying lips, and whoever spreads slander is a fool.
  4. When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.
  5. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value.
  1. 義人(의인)의 입술은 여러 사람을 敎育(교육)하나 미련한 者(자)는 知識(지식)이 없으므로 죽느니라
  2. 여호와께서 福(복)을 주시므로 사람으로 富(부)하게 하시고 근심을 兼(겸)하여 주지 아니하시느니라
  3. 미련한 者(자)는 行惡(행악)으로 樂(낙)을 삼는 것 같이 明哲(명철)한 者(자)는 智慧(지혜)로 樂(낙)을 삼느니라
  4. 惡人(악인)에게는 그의 두려워하는 것이 臨(임)하거니와 義人(의인)은 그 願(원)하는 것이 이루어지느니라
  5. 회리바람이 지나가면 惡人(악인)은 없어져도 義人(의인)은 永遠(영원)한 基礎(기초) 같으니라

  1. The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
  2. The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
  3. It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
  4. The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
  5. As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
  1. The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of judgment.
  2. The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.
  3. A fool finds pleasure in evil conduct, but a man of understanding delights in wisdom.
  4. What the wicked dreads will overtake him; what the righteous desire will be granted.
  5. When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.
  1. 게으른 者(자)는 그 부리는 사람에게 마치 이에 醋(초) 같고 눈에 煙氣(연기) 같으니라
  2. 여호와를 敬畏(경외)하면 長壽(장수)하느니라 그러나 惡人(악인)의 年歲(년세)는 짧아지느니라
  3. 義人(의인)의 所望(소망)은 즐거움을 이루어도 惡人(악인)의 所望(소망)은 끊어지느니라
  4. 여호와의 道(도)가 正直(정직)한 者(자)에게는 山城(산성)이요 行惡(행악)하는 者(자)에게는 滅亡(멸망)이니라
  5. 義人(의인)은 永永(영영)히 移動(이동)되지 아니하여도 惡人(악인)은 땅에 居(거)하지 못하게 되느니라

  1. As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.
  2. The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
  3. The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
  4. The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
  5. The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

  3. The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.
  4. The way of the LORD is a refuge for the righteous, but it is the ruin of those who do evil.
  5. The righteous will never be uprooted, but the wicked will not remain in the land.
  1. 義人(의인)의 입은 智慧(지혜)를 내어도 悖逆(패역)한 혀는 베임을 當(당)할 것이니라
  2. 義人(의인)의 입술은 기쁘게 할 것을 알거늘 惡人(악인)의 입은 悖逆(패역)을 말하느니라

  2. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.
