  1. 너는 惡人(악인)의 亨通(형통)을 부러워하지 말며 그와 함께 있기도 願(원)하지 말지어다
  2. 그들의 마음은 强暴(강포)를 품고 그 입술은 殘骸(잔해)를 말함이니라
  3. 집은 智慧(지혜)로 말미암아 建築(건축)되고 明哲(명철)로 말미암아 堅固(견고)히 되며
  4. 또 房(방)들은 知識(지식)으로 말미암아 各種(각종) 貴(귀)하고 아름다운 보배로 채우게 되느니라
  5. 智慧(지혜) 있는 者(자)는 强(강)하고 知識(지식) 있는 者(자)는 힘을 더하나니

  1. Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
  2. For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
  3. Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
  4. And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
  5. A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
  1. Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company;
  2. for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble.
  3. By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;
  4. through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
  5. A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength;
  1. 너는 謀略(모략)으로 싸우라 勝利(승리)는 謀士(모사)가 많음에 있느니라
  2. 智慧(지혜)는 너무 높아서 미련한 者(자)의 미치지 못할 것이므로 그는 城門(성문)에서 입을 열지 못하느니라
  3. 惡(악)을 行(행)하기를 꾀하는 者(자)를 일컬어 邪慝(사특)한 者(자)라 하느니라
  4. 미련한 者(자)의 생각은 罪(죄)요 倨慢(거만)한 者(자)는 사람의 미움을 받느니라
  5. 네가 萬一(만일) 患難(환난)날에 落膽(락담)하면 네 힘의 微弱(미약)함을 보임이니라

  1. For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellers there is safety.
  2. Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
  3. He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
  4. The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
  5. If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
  1. for waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers.
  2. Wisdom is too high for a fool; in the assembly at the gate he has nothing to say.
  3. He who plots evil will be known as a schemer.
  4. The schemes of folly are sin, and men detest a mocker.
  5. If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!
  1. 너는 死亡(사망)으로 끌려가는 者(자)를 건져주며 殺戮(살륙)을 當(당)하게 된 者(자)를 救援(구원)하지 아니치 말라
  2. 네가 말하기를 나는 그것을 알지 못하였노라 할지라도 마음을 저울질 하시는 이가 어찌 洞察(통찰)하지 못하시겠으며 네 靈魂(령혼)을 지키시는 이가 어찌 알지 못하시겠느냐 그가 各(각) 사람의 行爲(행위)대로 報應(보응)하시리라
  3. 내 아들아, 꿀을 먹으라 이것이 좋으니라 송이꿀을 먹으라 이것이 네 입에 다니라
  4. 智慧(지혜)가 네 靈魂(령혼)에게 이와 같은 줄을 알라 이것을 얻으면 丁寧(정녕)히 네 將來(장래)가 있겠고 네 所望(소망)이 끊어지지 아니하리라
  5. 惡(악)한 者(자)여 義人(의인)의 집을 엿보지 말며 그 쉬는 處所(처소)를 헐지 말지니라

  1. If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
  2. If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
  3. My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:
  4. So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
  5. Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
  1. Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
  2. If you say, "But we knew nothing about this," does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?
  3. Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste.
  4. Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.
  5. Do not lie in wait like an outlaw against a righteous man's house, do not raid his dwelling place;
  1. 大抵(대저) 義人(의인)은 일곱番(번) 넘어질지라도 다시 일어나려니와 惡人(악인)은 災殃(재앙)으로 因(인)하여 엎드러지느니라
  2. 네 怨讐(원수)가 넘어질 때에 즐거워하지 말며 그가 엎드러질 때에 마음에 기뻐하지 말라
  3. 여호와께서 이것을 보시고 기뻐 아니하사 그 震怒(진노)를 그에게서 옮기실까 두려우니라
  4. 너는 行惡者(행악자)의 得意(득의)함을 因(인)하여 忿(분)을 품지 말며 惡人(악인)의 亨通(형통)을 부러워하지 말라
  5. 大抵(대저) 行惡者(행악자)는 將來(장래)가 없겠고 惡人(악인)의 燈(등)불은 꺼지리라

  1. For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
  2. Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
  3. Lest the Lord see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
  4. Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked:
  5. For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
  1. for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again, but the wicked are brought down by calamity.
  2. Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice,
  3. or the LORD will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from him.
  4. Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of the wicked,
  5. for the evil man has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.
  1. 내 아들아, 여호와와 王(왕)을 敬畏(경외)하고 叛逆者(반역자)로 더불어 사귀지 말라
  2. 大抵(대저) 그들의 災殃(재앙)은 速(속)히 臨(임)하리니 이 두 者(자)의 滅亡(멸망)을 누가 알랴
  3. 이것도 智慧(지혜)로운 者(자)의 말씀이라 裁判(재판)할 때에 낯을 보아주는 것이 옳지 못하니라
  4. 무릇 惡人(악인)더러 옳다 하는 者(자)는 百姓(백성)에게 詛呪(저주)를 받을 것이요 國民(국민)에게 미움을 받으려니와
  5. 오직 그를 譴責(견책)하는 者(자)는 기쁨을 얻을 것이요 또 좋은 福(복)을 받으리라

  1. My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:
  2. For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
  3. These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
  4. He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
  5. But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
  1. Fear the LORD and the king, my son, and do not join with the rebellious,
  2. for those two will send sudden destruction upon them, and who knows what calamities they can bring?
  3. These also are sayings of the wise: To show partiality in judging is not good:
  4. Whoever says to the guilty, "You are innocent"--peoples will curse him and nations denounce him.
  5. But it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come upon them.

  5. 내가 曾往(증왕)에 게으른 者(자)의 밭과 智慧(지혜) 없는 者(자)의 葡萄園(포도원)을 지나며 본즉

  1. Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.
  2. Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
  3. Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.
  4. Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
  5. I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
  1. An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
  2. Finish your outdoor work and get your fields ready; after that, build your house.
  3. Do not testify against your neighbor without cause, or use your lips to deceive.
  4. Do not say, "I'll do to him as he has done to me; I'll pay that man back for what he did."
  5. I went past the field of the sluggard, past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgment;

  2. 내가 보고 생각이 깊었고 내가 보고 訓戒(훈계)를 받았었노라
  3. 네가 좀더 자자, 좀더 졸자, 손을 모으고 좀더 눕자 하니 네 貧窮(빈궁)이 强盜(강도) 같이 오며
  4. 네 困乏(곤핍)이 軍士(군사) 같이 이르리라

  1. And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
  2. Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
  3. Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
  4. So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
  1. thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins.
  2. I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw:
  3. A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest--
  4. and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.
