  1. 온 會衆(회중)이 소리를 높여 부르짖으며 밤새도록 百姓(백성)이 哭(곡)하였더라
  2. 이스라엘 子孫(자손)이 다 모세와 아론을 怨望(원망)하며 온 會衆(회중)이 그들에게 이르되 우리가 애굽 땅에서 죽었거나 이 曠野(광야)에서 죽었더면 좋았을 것을
  3. 어찌하여 여호와가 우리를 그 땅으로 引導(인도)하여 칼에 亡(망)하게 하려하는고 우리 妻子(처자)가 사로 잡히리니 애굽으로 돌아가는 것이 낫지 아니하랴
  4. 이에 서로 말하되 우리가 한 長官(장관)을 세우고 애굽으로 돌아가자 하매
  5. 모세와 아론이 이스라엘 子孫(자손)의 온 會衆(회중) 앞에서 엎드린지라

  1. And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.
  2. And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!
  3. And wherefore hath the Lord brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?
  4. And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.
  5. Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.
  1. That night all the people of the community raised their voices and wept aloud.
  2. All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, "If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this desert!
  3. Why is the LORD bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn't it be better for us to go back to Egypt?"
  4. And they said to each other, "We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt."
  5. Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole Israelite assembly gathered there.
  1. 그 땅을 探知(탐지)한 者(자) 中(중) 눈의 아들 여호수아와 여분네의 아들 갈렙이 그 옷을 찢고
  2. 이스라엘 子孫(자손)의 온 會衆(회중)에 일러 가로되 우리가 두루 다니며 探知(탐지)한 땅은 甚(심)히 아름다운 땅이라
  3. 여호와께서 우리를 기뻐하시면 우리를 그 땅으로 引導(인도)하여 들이시고 그 땅을 우리에게 주시리라 이는 果然(과연) 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅이니라
  4. 오직 여호와를 拒逆(거역)하지 말라, 또 그 땅 百姓(백성)을 두려워하지 말라 그들은 우리 밥이라 그들의 保護者(보호자)는 그들에게서 떠났고 여호와는 우리와 함께 하시느니라 그들을 두려워 말라 하나
  5. 會衆(회중)이 그들을 돌로 치려하는 同時(동시)에 여호와의 榮光(영광)이 會幕(회막)에서 이스라엘 모든 子孫(자손)에게 나타나시니라

  1. And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:
  2. And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.
  3. If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.
  4. Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not.
  5. But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.
  1. Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes
  2. and said to the entire Israelite assembly, "The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good.
  3. If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us.
  4. Only do not rebel against the LORD. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them."
  5. But the whole assembly talked about stoning them. Then the glory of the LORD appeared at the Tent of Meeting to all the Israelites.
  1. 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 이 百姓(백성)이 어느 때까지 나를 蔑視(멸시)하겠느냐 내가 그들 中(중)에 모든 異蹟(이적)을 行(행)한 것도 생각하지 아니하고 어느 때까지 나를 믿지 않겠느냐
  2. 내가 傳染病(전염병)으로 그들을 쳐서 滅(멸)하고 너로 그들보다 크고 强(강)한 나라를 이루게 하리라
  3. 모세가 여호와께 여짜오되 애굽인 中(중)에서 主(주)의 能力(능력)으로 이 百姓(백성)을 引導(인도)하여 내셨거늘 그리하시면 그들이 듣고
  4. 이 땅 居民(거민)에게 告(고)하리이다 主(주), 여호와께서 이 百姓(백성) 中(중)에 계심을 그들도 들었으니 곧 主(주) 여호와께서 對面(대면)하여 보이시며 主(주)의 구름이 그들 위에 섰으며 主(주)께서 낮에는 구름기둥 가운데서 밤에는 불기둥 가운데서 그들 앞에서 行(행)하시는 것이니이다
  5. 이제 主(주)께서 이 百姓(백성)을 한 사람 같이 죽이시면 主(주)의 名聲(명성)을 들은 列國(렬국)이 말하여 이르기를

  1. And the Lord said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?
  2. I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.
  3. And Moses said unto the Lord, Then the Egyptians shall hear it,(for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)
  4. And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou Lord art among this people, that thou Lord art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.
  5. Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,
  1. The LORD said to Moses, "How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the miraculous signs I have performed among them?
  2. I will strike them down with a plague and destroy them, but I will make you into a nation greater and stronger than they."
  3. Moses said to the LORD, "Then the Egyptians will hear about it! By your power you brought these people up from among them.
  4. And they will tell the inhabitants of this land about it. They have already heard that you, O LORD, are with these people and that you, O LORD, have been seen face to face, that your cloud stays over them, and that you go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.
  5. If you put these people to death all at one time, the nations who have heard this report about you will say,
  1. 여호와가 이 百姓(백성)에게 주기로 盟誓(맹서)한 땅에 引導(인도)할 能(능)이 없는故(고)로 曠野(광야)에서 죽였다 하리이다
  2. 이제 求(구)하옵나니 이미 말씀하신 대로 主(주)의 큰 權能(권능)을 나타내옵소서 이르시기를
  3. 여호와는 怒(노)하기를 더디하고 仁慈(인자)가 많아 罪惡(죄악)과 過失(과실)을 赦(사)하나 刑罰(형벌) 받을 者(자)는 決斷(결단)코 赦(사)하지 아니하고 아비의 罪惡(죄악)을 子息(자식)에게 갚아 三(삼),四代(사대)까지 이르게 하리라 하셨나이다
  4. 求(구)하옵나니 主(주)의 仁慈(인자)의 廣大(광대)하심을 따라 이 百姓(백성)의 罪惡(죄악)을 赦(사)하시되 애굽에서부터 至今(지금)까지 이 百姓(백성)을 赦(사)하신것 같이 赦(사)하옵소서
  5. 여호와께서 가라사대 내가 네 말대로 赦(사)하노라

  1. Because the Lord was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.
  2. And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,
  3. The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
  4. Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.
  5. And the Lord said, I have pardoned according to thy word:
  1. 'The LORD was not able to bring these people into the land he promised them on oath; so he slaughtered them in the desert.'
  2. "Now may the Lord's strength be displayed, just as you have declared:
  3. 'The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.'
  4. In accordance with your great love, forgive the sin of these people, just as you have pardoned them from the time they left Egypt until now."
  5. The LORD replied, "I have forgiven them, as you asked.
  1. 그러나 眞實(진실)로 나의 사는 것과 여호와의 榮光(영광)이 온 世界(세계)에 充滿(충만)할 것으로 盟誓(맹서)하노니
  2. 나의 榮光(영광)과 애굽과 曠野(광야)에서 行(행)한 나의 異蹟(이적)을 보고도 이같이 열番(번)이나 나를 試驗(시험)하고 내 목소리를 聽從(청종)치 아니한 그 사람들은
  3. 내가 그 祖上(조상)들에게 盟誓(맹서)한 땅을 決斷(결단)코 보지 못할 것이요 또 나를 蔑視(멸시)하는 사람은 하나라도 그것을 보지 못하리라
  4. 오직, 내 종 갈렙은 그 마음이 그들과 달라서 나를 穩全(온전)히 좇았은즉 그의 갔던 땅으로 내가 그를 引導(인도)하여 들이리니 그 子孫(자손)이 그 땅을 차지하리라
  5. 아말렉人(인)과 가나안人(인)이 골짜기에 居(거)하나니 너희는 來日(래일) 돌이켜 紅海(홍해) 길로 하여 曠野(광야)로 들어갈지니라

  1. But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.
  2. Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;
  3. Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:
  4. But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.
  5. (Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in To morrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea. the valley.)
  1. Nevertheless, as surely as I live and as surely as the glory of the LORD fills the whole earth,
  2. not one of the men who saw my glory and the miraculous signs I performed in Egypt and in the desert but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times--
  3. not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their forefathers. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it.
  4. But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.
  5. Since the Amalekites and Canaanites are living in the valleys, turn back tomorrow and set out toward the desert along the route to the Red Sea."

  2. 나를 怨望(원망)하는 이 惡(악)한 會衆(회중)을 내가 어느 때까지 참으랴 이스라엘 子孫(자손)이 나를 向(향)하여 怨望(원망)하는 바 그 怨望(원망)하는 말을 내가 들었노라
  3. 그들에게 이르기를 여호와의 말씀에 나의 삶을 가리켜 盟誓(맹서)하노라 너희 말이 내 귀에 들린 대로 내가 너희에게 行(행)하리니
  4. 너희 屍體(시체)가 이 曠野(광야)에 엎드러질 것이라 너희 二十歲(이십세) 以上(이상)으로 計數(계수)함을 받은 者(자) 곧 나를 怨望(원망)한 者(자)의 全部(전부)가
  5. 여분네의 아들 갈렙과 눈의 아들 여호수아 外(외)에는 내가 盟誓(맹서)하여 너희로 居(거)하게 하리라 한 땅에 決斷(결단)코 들어가지 못하리라

  1. And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
  2. How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.
  3. Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:
  4. Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward which have murmured against me.
  5. Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
  1. The LORD said to Moses and Aaron:
  2. "How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites.
  3. So tell them, 'As surely as I live, declares the LORD, I will do to you the very things I heard you say:
  4. In this desert your bodies will fall--every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me.
  5. Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
  1. 너희가 사로 잡히겠다고 말하던 너희의 幼兒(유아)들은 내가 引導(인도)하여 들이리니 그들은 너희가 싫어하던 땅을 보려니와
  2. 너희 屍體(시체)는 이 曠野(광야)에 엎드러질 것이요
  3. 너희 子女(자녀)들은 너희의 悖逆(패역)한 罪(죄)를 지고 너희의 屍體(시체)가 曠野(광야)에서 消滅(소멸)되기까지 四十年(사십년)을 曠野(광야)에서 流離(유리)하는 者(자)가 되리라
  4. 너희가 그 땅을 探知(탐지)한 날數(수) 四十日(사십일)의 하루를 一年(일년)으로 換算(환산)하여 그 四十年間(사십년간) 너희가 너희의 罪惡(죄악)을 질지니 너희가 나의 싫어 버림을 알리라 하셨다 하라
  5. 여호와가 말하였거니와 모여 나를 拒逆(거역)하는 이 惡(악)한 온 會衆(회중)에게 내가 斷定(단정)코 이같이 行(행)하리니 그들이 이 曠野(광야)에서 消滅(소멸)되어 거기서 죽으리라

  1. But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.
  2. But as for you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.
  3. And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.
  4. After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.
  5. I the Lord have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.
  1. As for your children that you said would be taken as plunder, I will bring them in to enjoy the land you have rejected.
  2. But you--your bodies will fall in this desert.
  3. Your children will be shepherds here for forty years, suffering for your unfaithfulness, until the last of your bodies lies in the desert.
  4. For forty years--one year for each of the forty days you explored the land--you will suffer for your sins and know what it is like to have me against you.'
  5. I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will surely do these things to this whole wicked community, which has banded together against me. They will meet their end in this desert; here they will die."
  1. 모세의 보냄을 받고 땅을 探知(탐지)하고 돌아와서 그 땅을 惡評(악평)하여 온 會衆(회중)으로 모세를 怨望(원망)케 한 사람
  2. 곧 그 땅에 對(대)하여 惡評(악평)한 者(자)들은 여호와 앞에서 災殃(재앙)으로 죽었고
  3. 그 땅을 探知(탐지)하러 갔던 사람들 中(중)에 오직 눈의 아들 여호수아와 여분네의 아들 갈렙은 生存(생존)하니라
  4. 모세가 이 말로 이스라엘 모든 子孫(자손)에게 告(고)하매 百姓(백성)이 크게 슬퍼하여
  5. 아침에 일찌기 일어나 山(산)꼭대기로 올라가며 가로되 보소서 우리가 여기 있나이다 우리가 여호와의 許諾(허락)하신 곳으로 올라 가리니 우리가 犯罪(범죄)하였음이니이다

  1. And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,
  2. Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the Lord.
  3. But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still.
  4. And Moses told these sayings unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.
  5. And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the Lord hath promised: for we have sinned.
  1. So the men Moses had sent to explore the land, who returned and made the whole community grumble against him by spreading a bad report about it--
  2. these men responsible for spreading the bad report about the land were struck down and died of a plague before the LORD.
  3. Of the men who went to explore the land, only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh survived.
  4. When Moses reported this to all the Israelites, they mourned bitterly.
  5. Early the next morning they went up toward the high hill country. "We have sinned," they said. "We will go up to the place the LORD promised."
  1. 모세가 가로되 너희가 어찌하여 이제 여호와의 命令(명령)을 犯(범)하느냐 이 일이 亨通(형통)치 못하리라
  2. 여호와께서 너희 中(중)에 계시지 아니하니 올라가지 말라 너희 對敵(대적)앞에서 敗(패)할까 하노라
  3. 아말렉人(인)과 가나안人(인)이 너희 앞에 있으니 너희가 그 칼에 亡(망)하리라 너희가 여호와를 背叛(배반)하였으니 여호와께서 너희와 함께 하지 아니하시리라 하나
  4. 그들이 그래도 山(산)꼭대기로 올라갔고 여호와의 言約櫃(언약궤)와 모세는 陣(진)을 떠나지 아니하였더라
  5. 아말렉人(인)과 山地(산지)에 居(거)하는 가나안人(인)이 내려와 쳐서 破(파)하고 호르마까지 이르렀더라

  1. And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of the Lord? but it shall not prosper.
  2. Go not up, for the Lord is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.
  3. For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away from the Lord, therefore the Lord will not be with you.
  4. But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.
  5. Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, even unto Hormah.
  1. But Moses said, "Why are you disobeying the LORD'S command? This will not succeed!
  2. Do not go up, because the LORD is not with you. You will be defeated by your enemies,
  3. for the Amalekites and Canaanites will face you there. Because you have turned away from the LORD, he will not be with you and you will fall by the sword."
  4. Nevertheless, in their presumption they went up toward the high hill country, though neither Moses nor the ark of the LORD'S covenant moved from the camp.
  5. Then the Amalekites and Canaanites who lived in that hill country came down and attacked them and beat them down all the way to Hormah.
