  1. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
  2. But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
  3. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
  4. Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
  5. And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
  1. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?"
  2. On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
  3. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
  4. Then John's disciples came and asked him, "How is it that we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?"
  5. Jesus answered, "How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.

  4. And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.
  5. And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

  2. Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved."
